Improvement & Coming Together as a Team: Girard girls were 9-12 last year and went toe to toe with the two time defending state champion Goodland yesterday, coming up short (32-30) in the 3A state quarterfinals in Hutchinson. What a year for the Trojans under longtime head coach Brad Herlocker, who has a state title at GHS in 2017. “Most powerful year of coaching watching a group improve more than any other group I’ve had.” Herlocker said. S/o to the Lady Trojans for showing they belonged with the major contenders this year. Getting better every day is what it’s all about.
