Having a training habit goes a long way toward being healthy. But even if you train, you need to eat right. Eating healthy doesn’t have to be difficult. Just remember to keep it clean! Try not to binge on high-calorie junk food. Keep in mind that what and how much you eat highly influences your health.
Keeping a few principles in mind will make eating clean easy. Focus on a protein-rich and whole-foods diet. Consider starchy carbohydrates that are also high in fiber, like whole grains, oats, rice, quinoa and lentils instead of simple sugars and sweets. Think about adding in nuts, seeds and avocados to fuel your body with healthy fats. Make sure you drink plenty of water when you train. Aim for 2-3 liters (2-3 quarts) per day. Following these basic guidelines will help you improve upon the results you achieve when you train.
