YA BUNAYYA
Post-Hardcore / Screamo — Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia
Hailing from Ipoh, Perak, Ya Bunayya is a post-hardcore/screamo band shaped by emotional unrest, raw honesty, and the urge to turn inner turmoil into sound. Emerging from the Perak underground scene,
the band brings a cathartic and emotionally driven approach to Malaysian post-hardcore—where intensity, vulnerability, and atmosphere collide.
Ya Bunayya’s sound is rooted in emotional extremes: piercing screams, dynamic instrumentals, and moments of fragile calm that often collapse into chaos. Their music reflects personal struggles, longing, resilience, and transformation, delivered through lyrics written in Malay, English, and Chinese. Each release feels less like a performance and more like a confession unfiltered and deeply human.
Visually and sonically, Ya Bunayya carries a strong identity: dark, introspective, and sincere. Their live performances are known for their emotional weight, pulling audiences into a space where grief, hope, and release coexist.
