AUNT LIL’S PUDDING 🩸
[ 🔗 in comments ]
In her column this week, Darina Allen recounts her memories of pudding making in the home, and the resourcefulness of the women who made them.

Inspired by my book Blood, Guts & Black Pudding, Darina also shares her Aunt Lil’s recipe for the pork blood black pudding made every year in autumn.

Darina writes:
“The making of the black and white puddings was Aunt Lil’s speciality. She tasted the raw mixture, poured it into the washed intestines, tied them into coils, then carefully poached, pricked here and there with a sterilised darning needle so they didn’t burst. I’ve never tasted anything so delicious before or since…”

Darina wrote the foreword to my book, and I’m so thrilled about that. Black pudding holds such importance to people, as her piece so wonderfully shows. Thanks so much for the continued support of Bloody Book, Darina! 🩸🙌🩸
