Scally's SuperValu Clonakilty We pride ourselves on a wide range of good quality products, great value and superb service. Scally's SuperValu have been serving this community since 1984.

In November 2004 we opened a new shop which gave us the opportunity to
offer an even higher level of service. Wider aisles, better variety and faster
service all served to improve the Scally's Supervalu experience but we didn't
stop there. We've gone back to basics and have a full working kitchen preparing
handmade meals using only the best natural ingredients. We've also set up an
Artisan Bakery, which means the bread you buy from us is prepared and freshly
made in store every day. When you love what you do it shows and at Scally's
SuperValu Clonakilty we love looking after you.

While visiting some of our local suppliers together with we also took the opportunity to learn more about the people behind the products, their background and the processes that make them so special.

At we got to see their approach to smoking fish and meats, and, of course, taste our way through a whole plate of their products, from beef and salmon to duck and chicken.

The flavour was incredible, and we were particularly impressed by the natural approach to producing such delicious, high-quality smoked products.

Thanks to the team at Ummera Smokehouse for having us and giving us a glimpse behind the scenes!

A little behind the scenes at our Bakery here at Scally’s. 🥖 There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes to keep the shelves stocked with freshly baked breads, pastries, cakes and plenty more, 7 days a week.

From mixing and shaping dough to decorating personalised cakes for your special occasions, our Bakery team is busy every day making it all fresh in-house.

So next time you’re picking up a loaf, treating yourself to something sweet or collecting a cake, you’ll know there’s a whole team behind it. ❤️

A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of visiting three of our wonderful local suppliers together with the .

It was a brilliant opportunity to meet the people behind some of the products we’re proud to stock at Scally’s, hear more about their processes, discover what makes their products so special and, most importantly, learn what being a local supplier means to them.

We’re looking forward to sharing more from these visits, so keep an eye out for the upcoming articles in The Southern Star.
