Dental disease is the most common health issue in adult dogs and cats. And guess what? It’s largely preventable. 🦷🐾

That “doggy breath” could be a warning sign. Left untreated, dental disease can lead to painful gums, infection and tooth loss. Prevention really is key.

🌿 Dental Care Powder makes daily dental care easier. Simply sprinkle the recommended amount onto their food, or mix it with water to create a palatable toothpaste. Each pouch comes with a complimentary pet-safe toothbrush.

This veterinary-formulated blend of herbal and marine ingredients fits easily into your dog or cat’s routine, alongside regular brushing and veterinary dental checks. 🐶🐱

Autumn has officially kicked off, and these are the teas we’re reaching for first🫖

🌺 Hibiscus & Cinnamon - tart, spiced and warming.
🎃 Pumpkin Chai - comfort in a cup for slower afternoons.
🤎 Vanilla Rooibos - smooth, naturally caffeine-free and delicious.
🫐 Elderberry & Echinacea - a fruity herbal blend for the colder months.

Get to know the Bush Flowers: Dog Rose 🌸

Have you ever felt yourself holding back, even when you wanted to speak up? In Australian Bush Flower Essence practice, Dog Rose is associated with those moments of shyness, self-doubt and feeling uncomfortable around others.

Its flowers hang down, almost like rounded shoulders. The makers see that shape as a reflection of someone who has drawn inward, and use Dog Rose with the intention of nurturing confidence, self-belief and courage.

A lovely reminder that courage doesn’t always look loud. Sometimes it’s simply allowing yourself to take up a little more space. 💛

What are we giving our littles as the colder months roll in? 🍂 First, food. Not perfect meals every day, just plenty of variety over the week: fruit and colourful veg, eggs, fish, and nourishing meals they’ll actually eat. The ordinary stuff counts.

Then we look at what might need extra attention. A few nutrients we focus on at this time of year:

🐟 Omega-3s > oily fish such as salmon and sardines are good sources. Walnuts, chia and ground flaxseed can add variety too.

🥝 Vitamin C and zinc > think berries, citrus and peppers, alongside foods such as beans, eggs and meat. Both nutrients help the immune system function normally.

☀️ Vitamin D > especially relevant through an Irish winter. The HSE recommends a daily vitamin D supplement from Halloween to St Patrick’s Day for children, with the amount depending on their age.

Some children eat a little of everything, others have about six trusted foods on rotation. If you’d like extra nutritional support, we stock plenty of options formulated for littles, including Wild Nutrition Children’s Food-Grown® Daily Multi Nutrient. downtoearth.ie

Pop in and we’ll help you work out what makes sense alongside your child’s diet, including their vitamin D needs.

The fritters that work for just about any occasion: pack them for work, serve them for lunch or keep a batch in the fridge for little ones to enjoy. Make a batch of them over the weekend and thank yourself later. 🫑

You’ll need:
• 1 carrot, 1 courgette and 1 pepper, grated or finely chopped
• 3 spring onions, chopped
• 1 large garlic clove, crushed
• 2 tsp spice mix of your choice
• A handful of fresh coriander
• 50g Amisa Chickpea Flour
• 75ml water
• 2 tbsp olive oil, divided
• Salt and pepper, to taste

How to make them:

👉 Heat 1 tbsp oil and cook the vegetables, spring onions, garlic and spices for about 5 minutes. Stir in the coriander.

👉 Mix the chickpea flour and water into a batter, then fold in the vegetables.

👉 Heat the remaining oil. Spoon in small portions, flatten slightly and cook for 2–3 minutes on each side, until golden and cooked through.

Serve with yoghurt or your favourite dip!

It doesn’t get easier than this. 🌿 Mullein leaf is one of those herbs people often ask us about when a cold is coming on, during cough season, or when they’re looking for a herbal option for their respiratory routine. We also hear from smokers and ex-smokers who are curious about it.

This liquid Mullein Leaf Extract is easy to add to water, as you can see in the reel. Prefer a tea? We stock loose mullein leaf too, along with a range of cough syrups. Call in and we’ll help you find the right option for you.
