Shop Assistant wanted

Full description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer oriented individual to join our team.
In this role you will be responsible for various tasks including serving customers on till, stacking shelves, handling deliveries and general customer service related duties. As a vital part of our retail operation you will contribute to create a positive shopping experience for our customers while maintaining a neat and organised store environment.

Key responsibilities:

1. Cashier Duties-
-Greet customers warmly and provide excellent service at the check out counter and through out the store .
-Accurately scan and process customer purchases using the cash register.
-Handle cash transactions, process card payments and issue receipts.
-Maintain a balanced cash drawer and adhere to cash handling policies and procedures.

2. Shelf stacking:
Efficiently restock shelves with merchandise, ensuring proper organization and pricing.

3. Store Maintenance:
-Ensure shelves, displays and products are clean, well-stocked and visually appealing.
-Perform routine store cleaning tasks, including dusting, sweeping and organizing products.
-Monitor product expiration dates and remove expired items from shelves.

4. Customer Assistance:
-Welcome and assist customers with their enquiries, providing them with information they require about products, prices and promotions.
-Resolve customer complaints and concerns in a polite and professional manner.

5. Teamwork and Collaboration:
-Support fellow team members during busy periods or when additional assistance is required.
-Support colleagues with lifting and packing orders, heavy lifting may be required in this role at times.
-Voice your opinion on how we can improve your time at work and ask for help and support when required.
- Inform managers or a senior maybe of staff if any hazards arise.

Requirements:

-Proficient in spoken and written English.
-Prior experience in a retail or customer service role
-Training and understanding in food safety, HACCP and manual handling course are desirable.
-Strong attention to detail, particularly when handling cash transactions.
-Flexible to work as store requires.

Job Type: Full time
Experience preferred but not necessary as full training can be provided for the correct candidate
