Weโ€™re into the second week of June already ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Although the weather begs to differ, weโ€™re officially into the summer holiday period โ˜€๏ธ

So ask yourselfโ€ฆ

How have the first 5 months of the year gone?

Did you get those steps in like you said you would back in January? ๐Ÿ‘ฃ

Did you make a start in the gym, or get out running/walking during the week? ๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Do you feel better than you did at the start of the year?

Sometimes you have to be honest with yourself and ask:

Did I commit? Did I put in the time and effort? โฑ๏ธ

It doesnโ€™t need to be hours every day. But you do need to commit to giving yourself a few hours each month that focus on YOU, YOUR goals and YOUR health.

Commit to your personal training sessions. Commit to your runs/walk. Commit to your yoga or pilates classes. Commit to your coach, your Strava/Runna programme, or whatever plan youโ€™re following.

Commit......put in the effort, and youโ€™ll see the results ๐Ÿ’ช

Often we avoid the treat because weโ€™re โ€œtrying to be good" but then end up picking at lots of little โ€œhealthyโ€ things instead ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿฅ„

And before we know it, the picking has added up to more calories than the treat would have in the first place. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

That doesnโ€™t mean always choose the chocolate or the less nutritious option but sometimes itโ€™s better to just enjoy the thing you actually want, feel satisfied, and move on โœจ

Food guilt, restriction, and constant picking can keep us stuck in a cycle. A balanced approach is often the most sustainable one ๐Ÿ’›

If you're tracking your food and kcals, plan in a ~100kcal treat a day if needed. This is much better than going super clean mon-fri then eating all around you sat and Sunday, it defeats the purpose. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ
Sometimes the small treat isnโ€™t the problem.....

Remember it's about Balance and Consistency ๐Ÿ”

Time is valuable but it's also about prioritising what's important to you to fit into your day.

For example, there's 168 hours in a week if you can't give yourself the time to spend on yourself and do something good for you, or spend the time with friends and loved ones then you should re evaluate where all your time goes ๐Ÿค”

Myself and everyone at AOC are deeply saddened by the passing of our client and friend Dave Richardson.

Dave always had a smile on his face. An absolute pleasure of a client with such a friendly soul, always making time to chat to everyone sharing all his life experiences and stories with us all.

Over the years with Dave being a regular client he became a good friend. Personally I loved listening to Dave's stories, Dave had a huge passion for Orienteering and I'd get lost listening about his ventures competing around Ireland and Europe with his wife Anyta. I often wondered if it was Dave's way of distracting me from training him.

I'm finding it hard to write into words how much Dave will be missed.
Myself, Gemma and all our clients would like to pass our condolences to Dave's wife Anyta and family.

May he rest in peace ๐Ÿ’™

Sometimes we overcomplicate things, especially when it comes to food.

โ€œI donโ€™t have timeโ€ is probably the most common thing I hearโ€ฆbut hereโ€™s the reality ๐Ÿ‘‡

These two meals took me less than 15 minutes to put together.

One pan, a few simple steps, no stress:
โ€“ Chicken in the air fryer (15 mins, hands-off)
โ€“ Stir-fry veg while it cooks
โ€“ Noodles on the hob
โ€“ Broccoli on the hob

Second meal, even quicker:
โ€“ Ready-to-eat salmon
โ€“ Microwave rice (2 minutes)

Thatโ€™s it.

No fancy recipes. No hours in the kitchen. Just simple, balanced meals that cover your protein, carbs, and micronutrients ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Sometimes simple really is best, and consistency beats complexity every time.

6 weeks till June โ˜€๏ธ

These next few weeks always fly inโ€ฆ before you know it, summer is here. Weโ€™ve still got bank holidays, weekends away, and plenty of excuses that can easily knock you off track if you let them. ๐Ÿ˜ช

But hereโ€™s the thing, thereโ€™s never a โ€œperfectโ€ time to get started...

Everyone struggles with motivation at some stage.
Life gets busy, work piles up, family comes firstโ€ฆ and that focus on you ends up pushed down the list. ๐Ÿ“‰

But the difference is made when you stop waiting to find time and start choosing to make time. ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Even if itโ€™s not perfect. Even if itโ€™s just getting in the door. Small, consistent effort over these next 6 weeks can make a massive difference to how you feel heading into summer.

Donโ€™t leave it too late and wish you started today.
