We are hiring for a part-time, permanent shop assistant in June 2026. Important: this is NOT a summer job— it is a long-term role.

Main Duties include:
-Support customers in the shop: explain how refill shopping works, demonstrate the use of the scale to tare and weigh containers, answer questions about products, etc.
- Effectively operate scale and till systems to ensure a seamless customer shopping experience.
- Pack online orders and unpack inbound deliveries.
- Proactively restock items on shelves and refill dispensers.
- Follow shop protocols for cleaning and maintaining excellent food hygiene and batch tracking routines and records.
Requirements:
- Experience in a role with direct customer interaction, such as a shop or café/restaurant, highly desirable.
- Essential: ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and proactively complete tasks as they arise. Ability to work well in a small team and anticipate what needs to be done to keep things running smoothly.
- Essential: ability to lift and carry heavy containers and bags weighing up to a maximum of 25 kg (according to Manual Handling guidelines and training, which will be provided).
- Knowledgeable about and interested in organic foods, reusable goods, eco-friendly alternatives to mainstream products, supporting Irish producers, sustainable practices and climate issues and able to communicate about these topics with others.
- Willingness to actively engage with customers in a friendly manner, patience in answering questions and dealing with occasional mishaps (spills, overflows, etc).
- Available to work full days on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Potential for role to become full time, Monday to Friday, upon successful completion of training period.
