Smitha’s: The beginning
A mother with decades of rich experience cooking her authentic malayalee fare. Her son with a strong education in food, eating that same malayalee fare. Pleasing people’s palettes and leaving them craving for more is something that has been running in the family for 5 generations. A son. His mother. His grandmother. His great grandmother. His great-great grandmother. This is a passing down of heritage that wasn’t thought the pages of a book but with every moment spent together punctuated with morsels of food. Recipes have been shared while toiling over a hot stove, do’s and don'ts have been stated in a household that could add up to a small army, secret ingredients have remained secrets all the while feeding every hungry mouth. We are here because the one thing that has been handed down that makes all the difference is love, in its purest form. When you eat from Smitha’s, you’ll know what we mean. It’s five generations of mothers’ love that goes into each mouthful.
With every bite, we hope that you not only enjoy the taste, but you are reminded of how good and authentic every mother’s cooking is.
