Understanding all facets of the sports industry is vital for an athlete, especially with regards to sponsorship, where identifying brands whose values align with the athlete are key to creating synergies.
Thanks for designing a course that introduces a broad understanding of how works.
I love learning as much as I can about the industry, and not just limiting myself to the sport itself. These self paced courses are economical and keep you hungry for more.

An interesting 5 days: 17th - 21st.
A juice based gut cleansing detox to improve my gut microbiome.
Before I get into the details of these 5 days, let me make it extremely clear that I didn't do this to lose weight(I'm in my range). The weight-loss is a by product of the lack of carbs and glucose breakdown.

I don't know much about juices cleanses and still don't, except that people use it as a quick fix weight loss method. When my mentor told me about it I had reservations but because it came from him, I didn't question it and decided to do this to test my mental strength. I love cooking and food is a big part of any athlete's life. I knew I was setting myself up for some tough days ahead. Bring it on!

I'm a meal prepper. I bought a whole stock of fruit and veggies and prepped them the night before the cleanse. All I had to do all 5 days was throw whatever I wanted together into the blender.

Day 1: Excitedly got through without any issues.
Day 2: Stomach rumbling throughout the evening into the night. A heightened awareness that my body was asking for nutrients. Reduced bloating.
Day 3: The rumbling wouldn't stop. No withdrawal symptoms(headache/fatigue/irritability) no food cravings(being a predominantly clean eater helped), no bloating. I craved salt so upped that in the fruit juices. Today was mentally tough!
Day 4-5: Went by in a breeze. The body had adjusted to the timings and nutrition.

I've been in isolation as my sis is Covid+. Cooking for her made me realise how heightened my sense of smell was. I never tasted the food I cooked as that would be cheating and since she's sick she can't tell if it's good or bad 😜 The thought of eating khichdi(soft food) on Day 6 was very alluring.

Started at 54.1kg and finished at 50.1kg.
Extremely restricted bowel movements which has resulted in a bit of acne. I'm not acne prone so I attribute it to that.
Ash kept checking in and encouraging me.
I'm a happier person today knowing that my mind didn't let me down and that my life doesn't revolve around food. If I'm ever in a situation where I cannot afford a decent meal, I know I can survive on juices 😁

Keto bun trials in the kitchen a few days ago.
I'm always skeptical about working with Psyllium husk powder and have been on pins and needles since last night waiting for the client's feedback- they're incredible he said!!!

Now to try creating a keto patty and very soon we'll have an assembled keto burger for the ketoholics 😊

TRIAL 2 for a Low Carb High Fat Diet (Ketogenic)

PEANUT BUTTER FUDGE

Home made peanut butter fudge with erythritol and coconut oil.
Vanilla whey protein.
Unsalted butter.
Cream cheese.

I'm so happy with all the experimenting and learning involved. The waiting period is the worst because it has to set perfectly and taste great for someone who is on a strict diet regimen. I can gladly tick all those boxes with these delightful squares of happiness.

My Grandmom was a hoarder of recipes...in her head..and so when I chanced upon her handwrittten lemon curd recipe years and years ago this was one of the first recipes I tried replicating.
I've done a lot of research ever since and tried a couple of variations but her recipe always turned out perfectly. This incorporates whole eggs which is not common in lemon curd but honestly it works every single time.

Lemon curd in a Paule Caillat tart shell recipe decorated with candied lemon.

I made this a million times but never bothered to take a picture till today.

With the deluge of mangoes hitting the market, it's only natural that it's the fruit of choice at home too.
Incorporating mangoes in a cake is a tough ask. No one at home is a fan of mousse or creamy cakes. It's not a fruit that retains much of a flavour when pureed and added in the batter. So the best way in our opinion is to let them sit pretty atop these almond friands and let their flavour and sweetness do all the talking.
These mini mouthfuls of MANGO & ALMOND FRIANDS were baked by my sister, the assistant 😉 and I just cannot decide what's better...the picture or the friands. 10/10 on both counts Bryna Fernandez
