Kambu is a rich source of carbhohydrate, fiber and minerals it is on of the whole grain for managing blood sugar levels. It is rich in potassium which helps to reduce overall blood pressure.Kambu is easily digestable and good source of nutrients. It lowers the bad cholesterol and improves good cholesterol.
Kambu satiates hunger as it does not breakdown easily this prevents weight gain.
It is rich in antioxidants.
This drink is super good for the summer as cools the body
Ingredients
Broken kambu 1 cup
Water 2 cups
Wash it just once add water in cook in pressure cooker. Once cooled add sufficient water till it is immersed.
Leave it over night
Next day add curd, salt and run in a mixie
This way it blends easily and is ready to drink
If you like it cold keep in fridge and consume
Having a bite of small onions enhances the taste
We get husk removed from kambu
Use it as all of us don’t have the facility to remove husk in our homes
Whole kambu has to be soaked and then the moisture removed by drying it in shade. Then when slightly moist it should be pounded in the stone pestle. Then the husk should be cleared. This is not possible these days so get the broken and cleaned kambu.
