*Shakti* means power, energy, or force and is mythologically personified in *Maa Durga* - the divine consort of Lord Shiva.
Today marks the beginning of Chaitra Navratri. (There are 2 Naratris: one is Chaitra Navratri, and the other one is
Sharad Navratri).
Chaitra Navratri is celebrated during the Shukla Paksha of Chaitra in the month of March and April while Sharad Navratri falls during Ashwin masa and marks the beginning of winter in September/October.
Metaphysically, Shakti is the name given to the fundamental creative dynamism that gives rise to our universe.
She is considered the source of both matter and physical energy, or in simple put, just everything in this cosmos. Her dance is the dance of the cosmos.
*On the Auspicious occasion of Chaitra Navaratri and Durga Puja, I pray that may Maa Durga transcend all forms in showering her infinitesimal blessings on you and your loved ones so as to enable you to enjoy the infinitive bliss of cosmos.*
