While our comrades may not agree with the framing of "tribal business" or the "appropriation" of these histories towards "commercial" gains, over the years we have moved towards the articulation of our work, with adivasi communities, professional collaborators, even investors and customers, as a "social enterprise". The "enterprise" is inherent to the direct relationships within our communities of practice. This year, the tribal business conclave happened at the same time as our director, .cfp.sao 's visit to delhi. It was a deeply enriching and enlightening experience, where we met several others like us, who are working with local communities and bringing MFPs and indigenous processes to the fore. Speaking to the makers and sellers of food and craft products, and hearing stories that resonate with our own was not only affirming, but also meaningful in terms of forming new associations and friendships.
We take these learnings, possibilities and promises of exchange back with us, in the hope that we can come back as participants next year.
