Uttarakhand has always been known for its natural beauty. Many types of medicinal plants are found in its beautiful climate, on which many great research works have been done by our sages and ancestors, from the discovery of these herbs to their medicinal use.

Here I am sharing information about some such popular and unpopular herbs and their medicinal use.

* Nettle -
Its botanical name is Urtica dioica. Its effect is hot and it is very useful for cancer, BP and stomach diseases.

* Chamomile (Acacia flowers) -
It is basically a herb, its flower is used for medicinal purposes. Chamomile tea is one of the very healthy drinks. This herbal tea is considered very good for the health of heart, skin, stomach ulcers, insomnia and depression.

*Ganga Tulsi-
Which Indian does not know the name of Tulsi, its religious and medicinal importance? Its botanical name is Ocimum tenuiflorum.
Its use is considered very beneficial for cold, cough, dental disease and respiratory diseases. In today's time, stress has become a big problem and people adopt many types of therapy to get relief from it. Tulsi leaves have been found useful in reducing this problem.

*Bay Leaf-
Its botanical name is Laurus nobilis. Consumption of bay leaves is considered very beneficial for diabetes patients. It improves digestion and is considered helpful in preventing fungal infections.

*Buransh (Rhododendron)- Buransh tree is found in abundance in the forests of Uttarakhand at an altitude of more than 2000 feet. When the flower blooms in March-April, the beauty of the entire forest is worth seeing.

But this wild flower is very useful. It is extremely useful for curing heart, skin, liver diseases, inflammation, bronchitis, arthritis pain and grout. It is also very effective against many types of cancer. Because "quercetin and rutin flavonoids" are found in it. Buransh flower juice and squash can correct insulin imbalance. It is very beneficial for the digestive system, keeping the digestive system healthy.

*Oregano- Oregano is also known as celery leaves. Its scientific name is Origanum vulgare. A monoterpene phenol compound called carvacrol is found in it. Which is helpful in relieving joint pain and inflammation. Apart from this, oregano contains protein, fat, fiber and minerals like calcium, phosphorus, iron and multi-purpose acids like nicotinic acid.

*Rosemary- It is an aromatic evergreen herb with needle-shaped leaves. It is a native plant of the Mediterranean region. It is a member of the mint family Lamiaceae, which includes many other herbs.

The best health benefits of rosemary include improving memory, improving mood, reducing inflammation, relieving pain, protecting the immune system, improving blood circulation, removing toxins from the body, protecting the body from bacterial infections, preventing premature aging, etc.
