Responsibly Grown started as a response to our own concern about the food we were consuming. Living in a metropolitan city like Gurgaon, life was comfortable; however, the food we were eating was always a cause of worry. Today the vegetables and fruits that we eat, are grown using chemical based fertilisers and pesticides. Over the last few decades the amount of chemicals in these fertilisers have increased due to decreasing response of vegetables and plants to chemicals. This in turn has lead to an exponentially high amount of chemical traces in the fruits and vegetables purchased by us from our local stores. No matter how healthy we ate, there was no escaping these toxic chemicals that went into our food.
While looking for healthy alternatives and traceability, we realised that we were not alone. A large part of our generation living in the city were aware of the chemical-laden food they were consuming, for one had no alternative. This is when we realised the need for a neighbourhood farm where we could grow our own veggies without using any synthetic inputs, for this is how our ancestors used to grow their food!
