சர்வதேச மகளிர் தினம்.

நமது பண்ணையின் உழைப்பாளர்களில் 90 சதவிகிதம் பெண்கள் என்பதில் பெருமை கொள்கிறது அகணி பண்ணை.

விதைப்பது முதல் உழுது அறுவடை வரை இங்கு அனைத்துச் செயல்பாடுகளும் பெண்களாலேயே நடைபெறுகின்றன. அதுமட்டுமல்ல. அகணி பண்ணையின் கட்டுமானங்களாகட்டும் பனைமரம் ஏறி தோகை அறுத்து, மிதித்துப் பதப்படுத்தி கூரை வேய்வதாகட்டும், தாயற்ற குஞ்சுகளுக்கு கோழிகள் ஆவதாகட்டும், நள்ளிரவில் ஈனும் பசுக்களுக்கு தாதியாவதாகட்டும், வெளியே சென்று விடம் (விஷம்) தின்று தள்ளாடியபடி வீடு திரும்பும் நாய்களுக்கு பம்பரமாய் சுழன்று முதலுதவி செய்து காப்பாற்றுவதாகட்டும் - இவர்களால் செய்யப்படாத வேலைகள் என்றெதுவுமில்லை.

அகணி பண்ணையைக் காத்திரமாகப் பார்த்துக் கொள்ளும் இவர்கள், பத்து கைகள் கொண்ட காளிகள்!. ஆம். இவர்களே தச்சர்-கொத்தனார்-பொறிஞர்- கலைஞர் மற்றும் ஆண்கள். இவர்களால் முடியாதது எதுவுமில்லை.

அதேசமயம் அகணி,

- தனது செயல்பாடுகளில் பெண்களை மையப்படுத்துவதன் மூலம் அவர்களுக்கான பொருளாதார அதிகாரத்தை உருவாக்க உதவுகிறது.

- பல்வேறு நுட்பங்கள் பயிற்சிகள் மற்றும் திறமைகளை வளர்ப்பதன் மூலம் தன்னம்பிக்கையாளர்களாக மாற்றுகிறது.

- தாங்குறு (Sustainable) வேளாண்மை மற்றும் உணவு பாதுகாப்பில் பெண்களை ஈடுபடுத்துவதன் மூலம் வளமான எதிர்காலத்திற்கு வித்திடுகிறது.

- படைப்பு மற்றும் கலைத்திறன்களை ஊக்குவிப்பதன்வழி ஆரோக்கியமான மனநிலையைப் பேணுகிறது.

இந்நாளில், சற்றேனும் பொருளாதார சுதந்திரத்தைச் சுவாசித்தபடி, நிமிர்ந்திருக்கும் உள்ளூர் கிராமத்துப் பெண்களின் மண் படிந்த கரங்களைப் பற்றி, நன்றியுடன் நினைவு கூர்கிறது அகணி பண்ணை.

At Akani Farm, we take immense pride that 90% of our workforce consists of women. Today, we celebrate these extraordinary guardians of our land!

From sowing seeds to plowing fields to harvesting crops—every operation here is managed by women. But that's not all. Whether it's constructing our farm buildings, climbing palm trees to cut and process thatch for roofing, caring for orphaned chicks, acting as midwives for cows giving birth in the middle of the night, or rushing to provide first aid to our dogs who return home disoriented after consuming poison—there's nothing these women cannot accomplish.

These fierce protectors of Akani Farm are truly like the goddess Kali with her ten hands! They are carpenters, masons, engineers, artists, and more all rolled into one. Nothing is impossible for them.

At the same time, Akani Farm:

அகணி பண்ணையில் சுதந்திரமாக திரியும் ஒரு கோழி தனது குஞ்சுகளுடன் ஓய்வெடுக்கிறது.

(ஏழு கழுதை வயசு ஆயிடுச்சு. இன்னும் குஞ்சுகெல்லாம் அம்மாவோடய திரியுதுங்க... )

குஞ்சுகளை பொரிக்க மின்சாரம் தேவையில்லை.

அசுர வளர்ச்சியை துரிதப்படுத்தும் உணவுகளோ மருந்துகளோ இல்லை.

பெரிய பண்ணைகளில் வளர்ப்பதைப் போன்ற குறுக்கு வழிகள் இல்லை.

அடைப்பதற்கும் திறப்பதற்கு ஆட்கள் தேவை இல்லை.

அனைத்தும் உயிரினங்களும் உள்ளுணர்வாலேயே (instinct).
செயல்படுகின்றன.

இதுவே இயற்கையின் வழியிலான உயிரினச்செயல்முறை.

அகணி பண்ணையில், உணவுகளும் உயிர்களும் இயற்கையோடு இயைந்தே உருவாகின்றன . இயற்கைக்கு எதிராக அல்ல .

தென்னை நடவு — நீர் மேலாண்மையின் பலன்

வறண்ட சிவகங்கை மாவட்டத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள் என்பதால் நீரின் அருமை எங்களுக்கு நன்கு தெரியும்.

அதனால் தான் பண்ணையின் ஆரம்ப காலங்களிலேயே
சொந்தப் பயன்பாட்டிற்காக பத்து தென்னை மரங்கள் மட்டும் நடவு செய்து வளர்த்தோம். அவற்றின் பலன்களை இன்று அனுபவித்து வருகிறோம்.

ஆனால் அது சுலபமான பயணம் அல்ல.

பண்ணையின் ஆரம்ப கட்டத்தில்
நீர் மேலாண்மையின் ஒரு முக்கிய பகுதியாக Water Recharging செயல்பாடுகள் முன்னெடுக்கப்பட்டன.

Swale எனப்படும் வாய்க்கால்கள் அமைக்கப்பட்டன. மழைநீர் ஓடிச் செல்லாமல் அதிலேயே தங்கி நிலத்தடியில் செழிக்கச் செய்யப்பட்டது.

இதற்காக ஆரம்பத்தில் பெரும் முதலீடு செய்யப்பட்டது. அப்போது சுற்றியிருந்த பலர் இதை நகையாடினர். “பைத்தியக்காரத்தனம்” என்றனர்.

ஆனால் காலம் சென்றது.
இயற்கை தன் வேலையை தானே செய்தது.

இன்று —
அகணி பண்ணை, நீர் மேலாண்மையில் தன்னிறைவு பெற்றுள்ளது.

உபரி நீர் இருப்பதால்
மேலும் 180 தென்னங்கன்றுகள் நடவு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளன.

எங்களது மதிப்பு கூட்டு பொருட்களுக்கு தேங்காய் எண்ணெய் தேவையாகிறது. அதற்கான மூலத்தை நாமே உருவாக்கிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறோம்.

நிலத்தடி நீரை வளப்படுத்த
நேற்று மேற்கொண்ட ஆழமான முயற்சிகள் இன்று பலன் தருகின்றன.

இயற்கை ஒருபோதும் தவறுவதில்லை.

Coconut Planting — The Result of Water Management.

Coming from drought-prone Sivagangai district, we understand the value of water.

That is why, during the early years of the farm, we planted ten coconut trees for our own use and have been enjoying their yield.

But the journey was not easy.

In the foundational phase of the farm,
water management was treated as a priority.

Water recharging systems were implemented. Swales were constructed to slow down rainwater runoff and allow it to percolate into the soil.

It required significant early investment.
At that time, many around us mocked the effort.
Some called it impractical.

But time passed.
Nature did its work.

Today, Akani Farms has achieved water self-sufficiency through consistent regenerative water management.

With surplus water availability, additional 180 coconut saplings have now been planted.

Our value-added products require coconut oil.
We are building our own source.

The intensive groundwater recharge efforts
undertaken yesterday are delivering results today.

Nature does not fail.
