Started in the 70s, the look and feel of this shop hasn't changed much. Same tiny shop, Same vendor (along with his son), same long queue of people waiting patiently for their turn, and another set of people standing and licking their fingers - sounds familiar! The secret lies in the taste of the cholas (spicy chick peas) for me with bhaturas (fried bread made from fine wheat flour) in two options
- Plain and Aloo (potato) based. I personally prefer the Potato ones. Priced at Rs. 30 for a plate, you get two bhaturas, chole, a piece of Aloo, onion, green chilly, chutney (pasty sauce) sprinkled on top of the cholas and a piece of pickle. Chola Bhaturan is an absolute must try Vegetarian North Indian food and I highly recommend you to try it. The shop opens at 9 AM and closes down by 1 PM. It remains closed on Monday.
