The last two years have changed my thinking about agricultural startups more than the previous ten.
When I started working on ConnectFarmer.com in 2012, the biggest challenges were building a website, finding customers online, creating digital awareness, and connecting rural producers with markets.
Today, AI has changed the game completely.
Tasks that once required teams, agencies, designers, writers, and marketers can now be done by a single person with the right AI tools. The cost of experimentation has dropped dramatically. The speed of building has increased exponentially.
At the same time, some fundamental questions remain unchanged:
🌱 How do we help farmers create more value from what they produce?
🌱 How do we encourage value-added agricultural products instead of selling only raw commodities?
🌱 How can technology strengthen rural livelihoods rather than simply automate urban conveniences?
🌱 What will agricultural startups look like in an AI-first world?
I believe the next generation of agricultural innovation will not come only from advanced technology. It will come from combining AI, entrepreneurship, local knowledge, value addition, rural tourism, and strong market linkages.
I am interested in connecting with founders, farmers, researchers, technologists, investors, and anyone thinking seriously about the future of agriculture in the AI age.
What opportunities do you see emerging at the intersection of AI and agriculture?
I would love to hear your thoughts and learn from different perspectives.
