Sekai Ichi apple is a luxury Japanese apple variety whose name translates to "world's number one". Known as one of the largest and most expensive apples globally, individual fruits can cost over $20 USD and weigh up to 900 grams (2 pounds).

Key Facts

Origin: Bred in Morioka, Japan, in 1930 and released to the market in 1974.

Parentage: Created by crossing a Red Delicious and a Golden Delicious.

Flavor & Texture: Features a very mild, sweet taste with crisp, juicy, and tender flesh.

Appearance: Exceptionally large (12 to 18 inches in circumference) with pale pink-red stripes over a yellow background.

Two new varieties of pears were planted in the Orchard within the last two years. These two will accompany our already established green Bartlett pear trees. It typically takes at least four years for young trees to bare fruit, so we’re very excited to see a sample of what will come as the trees develop.

The Rocket cherry is an early-maturing, premium sweet cherry variety known for its extra-large size (30–34 mm), heart shape, deep red color, and high firmness with a sweet flavor rating around 17° Brix.

Key Growing Characteristics

Tree Vigor: High vigor with a semi-upright growth habit. Weak rootstocks are recommended to manage vigor.
