Notice Regarding Delivery Delays
First, we sincerely apologize for the delays in the delivery of your ordered items.
Currently, Kyoto is in the production season for 2026 tea leaves.
While we strive daily to source high-quality tea leaves at fair prices, the entry of major overseas food wholesalers into the Japanese tea market last year has created various issues regarding both price and quality.
Since March, we have been spending a significant amount of time exchanging information with tea plantation owners and wholesalers, and monitoring trends in the tea leaf market, which has caused delays in shipping to individual customers and responding to inquiries.
Furthermore, regarding deliveries to the United States, the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) has mandated a prior notification system since July of last year. Previously, this only applied to commercial deliveries, but this spring, its scope has been expanded to include individual customers, and it is expected to become even stricter in the future.
Appropriate measures must be taken to comply with this regulation. Failure to comply may result in your shipment being held at customs, or in the worst case, returned.
To avoid such situations, we are currently in the process of registering for advance notification.
Once this process is complete, we will begin shipping orders in the order they were received. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
