The Cherry Tomato

The Cherry Tomato You asked for it!!! Follow my culinary adventures as I venture into the world of simple culinary d

After a lot of harassing and pushing by my lovely friends and family, I decided to put up a page dedicated to my culinary adventures. I love to cook and to be honest, the kitchen is really my favourite room in the house. Cooking to me is cathartic and is my escape from the every day norms of life ( I also dabble in drinking wine as I cook, its inspiring)

I appreciate all of you taking this journey with me

Have you ever had a chicken Caesar burger? If you haven’t, here’s your sign to do it!
It’s always the right time for a burger so try this and let me know how it goes. Aside from what I call the Asian burger (I’ll make it soon for you) which is one of my favorite burgers, this chicken Caesar is in my top 3 along with a good cheesy smash burger

These beef phyllo parcels are a great dish to have when hosting or even just a a quick light meal.

I must say I have an unhealthy obsession with phyllo pastry. Guess why? The crunch guys, the damn crunch. I love how the thin sheets guarantee a crispy pastry and to be honest, I look for any excuse to use phyllo sheets.

I am obsessed with the lemon olive oil and I had to use it in a pasta. I’m not a fan of overly creamy pasta, it feels too much (or maybe it was my mood that day) but I used very little cream and just a touch of seasoning so that the lemon olive oil could shine through in the end.

I think I’ve found a new obsession 🙈

Presenting ‘iNGO’….a luhya word meaning home.

Home is where the heart is, where we make memories and often where we break bread together; as family, friends, lovers, visitors.

In African culture food brings us together and by bringing you to iNGO, I want to bring you home and break bread with you.

Harvest and Hearth is the first in a series of 6 pop up dinners that will explore the foods from different parts of east Africa.

Our first dinner takes us to Western Kenya, my ancestral home, my mothers’ home and a familiar place for me.

We will enjoy the familiar and unfamiliar paired with specially curated wines (And for those who don’t drink alcohol, we will also have curated non alcoholic options to compliment your meals)
