Nature’s Way of Expanding Colonies

Did you know that when a beehive grows too crowded, the bees don’t fight for space—they expand their family instead?

This process is called swarming.
• The old queen leaves the hive with nearly half the colony.
• Together, they cluster nearby while scout bees search for the perfect new home.
• Once a new location is found (like a hollow tree or hive box), the swarm moves in and starts building fresh comb and raising the next generation.

It’s nature’s way of ensuring bee populations stay strong and adaptable.
