Sabaidee. Some customers have asked why other stores are selling salmon and trout a lot cheaper than us. Customers need to be aware that some stores are selling Himalayan Trout (Product of China) and mislabelling it as Norwegian Trout.
Although Himalayan trout is sashimi grade, it is cheaper than Norwegian trout.
Some characteristics of Himalayan Trout:
- it’s smaller (usually about 4kg for a whole fish and about 1-1.3kg for a full fillet)
- its color is a dull pinkish/orange
- not as fatty as Norwegian Trout
- it tastes a little bit bland compared to Norwegian Trout and Salmon
