දෙල්තොට පිහිටි ලුල්කඳුර වතු යායේදී වාණිජ බෝගයක් ලෙස මෙරටට තේ වගාව හඳුන්වා දුන් ජේම්ස් ටේලර් මහතාගේ උපත සිදු වූයේ 1835 වර්ෂයේ අද වැනි දිනකය. එතුමාගේ උත්සාහය සහ සමාරම්භක සේවය නොවන්නට මෙරට තේ වගාව මෙතරම් ප්රචලිත නොවන්නට ඉඩ තිබිණ. ඉතින් 2024 මාර්තු 29 වැනි දිනට යෙදුණු ජේම්ස් ටේලර් මහතාගේ 189 වැනි ජන්ම දින සැමරුම වෙනුවෙන් එතුමා ප්රණාම පූර්වකව සිහිපත් කරමු.

On this day in 1835, Mr. James Taylor was born. He introduced tea cultivation to Sri Lanka as a commercial crop at the Lulkandura plantation in Delthota. Without his pioneering efforts, tea cultivation in the country wouldn't be as popular as it is today. Let's commemorate James Taylor on his 189th birthday celebration on March 29, 2024.
