BREWER WANTED!
Position: Brewer
Type: Full-time
Location: Dūmų Brewery, Vilnius, Lithuania
About Us:
Dūmų fabrikas, located in Vilnius's Naujoji Vilnia district, is a vibrant cultural and brewing hub housed in a restored 19th-century industrial building. Once a leading scythe factory in the early 20th century, the facility was renovated in 2019, preserving its historic charm while adapting it for modern use. Today, it serves as a venue for cultural activities and craft beer production, with Dūmų Brewery operating onsite.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Brewing Operations
-Oversee the entire brewing process, including milling, mashing, boiling, fermenting, conditioning, and packaging.
-Monitor and adjust ingredient temperatures and timings to ensure quality and consistency.
-Operate and maintain brewing equipment for efficient production.
Recipe Development
-Collaborate with the team to create new beer recipes and refine existing ones.
-Experiment with innovative ingredients and techniques to craft unique beers.
-Ensure recipes align with the brewery’s brand and customer preferences.
-Nowadays we put strong emphasis on non-alcoholic beverages and lemonades, in which interest is commendable.
Quality Control
-Conduct regular sampling and analysis throughout production.
-Ensure compliance with flavor, aroma, appearance, and carbonation standards.
Equipment Maintenance
-Clean and sanitize brewing tanks and equipment to maintain hygiene.
-Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues to prevent downtime.
-Follow safety protocols and procedures.
Inventory Management
-Manage raw material inventory and coordinate supply orders.
-Track ingredient usage and maintain accurate records.
Documentation & Reporting
-Maintain detailed production logs and traceability records.
-Prepare production and inventory reports for management.
Team Collaboration
-Train and supervise junior staff in brewing techniques and safety practices.
-Work closely with team members to ensure smooth operations.
Outreach & Innovation
-Represent the brewery at events, festivals, and tastings.
-Provide tours and educate customers about the brewing process. (Optional)
-Gather customer feedback to enhance products and processes.
-Stay updated on industry trends and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
QUALIFICATIONS
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
-Ability to stand on hard floors for extended periods.
-Capable of lifting 25 kg bags and performing physical tasks like climbing and pulling.
-Comfortable working in hot, cold, loud, and humid environments.
Experience & Skills:
-Minimum 3 years of experience in a craft brewery or 1 year with formal brewing education.
-Basic English communication skills.
-Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
-Proficiency in calculations for dilution, volume, flow, density, and alcohol content.
-Eligibility to work in Lithuania or obtain a work visa.
-Forklift license is a plus.
