“INBETWEEN”

Join us for INBETWEEN, a transformative movement workshop centered on contact improvisation an embodied practice that fosters body-mind integrity and freedom in encounter. Through these dances, we engage in a dialogue with a vibrant, sensate world, without the need to conquer or control.

In this workshop, Nico Athene will guide you through improvisational techniques that build trust in support, responsiveness to direction, and flow with gravity whether falling, floating, or finding balance with an unknown partner. Learn to carry your own weight, move with integrity, and embrace the ‘inbetween’ space of embodied imaginations.

Nico’s work draws from ritual performance, consent-based touch practices, archetypal psychology, and butoh exploring embodiment and connection. With a background in social anthropology and fine art, Nico has performed widely across South Africa and now shares her movement practice as a performer, visual artist, and facilitator.
