Let’s talk about the elephant in the Mauritian kitchen. 🇲🇺
It’s a quiet worry that many of us carry. We look around our neighborhoods, our friend circles, and our families, and we see it: cancer rates are rising.
Naturally, we ask ourselves why.
Is it genetics? Our DNA hasn't changed that much in a generation.
Is it our fast-paced modern lifestyle? The stress, the lack of sleep, the processed foods—they definitely play a role.
Is it the chemicals? It’s no secret that our beautiful island has historically struggled with incredibly heavy pesticide use in conventional farming. Even with better regulations today, pesticide residues on our everyday vegetables remain a constant worry.
The truth? We don’t have the definitive, scientific answer. We aren't doctors, and we aren't researchers. The links between our environment, our genes, and our health are incredibly complex.
But here is what we do know: We only get one body. And we only get one life to protect the people we love.
When the science is still debating, and the risks are this high, we believe in a very simple philosophy: We prefer to play it safe.
We choose to control the variables we can control. And the easiest place to start is on our plates.
By choosing organic, we aren't trying to be "trendy." We are simply deciding to eliminate synthetic chemicals, pesticides, and artificial toxins from our family’s daily fuel. It is our way of giving our bodies a clean, fighting chance to do what they do best: heal, protect, and thrive.
We might not be able to change the whole world overnight. But we can change what we put in our shopping baskets this week.
What about you? When it comes to your family's health, do you prefer to play it safe? Let’s talk in the comments below. 👇
