Another Musang King first for us. 😊

Earlier this season, we harvested our first Musang King from the Durian Tondong orchard.

And now, another first — this time from a Musang King tree growing quietly in our home garden. 😂

After years of waiting, the tree finally gave us its first fruit.

Naturally ripened and dropped from the tree, revealing beautiful yellow flesh with a creamy texture and surprisingly good flesh-to-seed ratio.

One fruit is never enough to judge a tree, of course. We’ll continue observing how it performs over the coming seasons.

But for now, two Musang King firsts in one season is a little milestone worth remembering. 😊

The harvest may be over.
The work isn’t.

Another shipment of fertiliser arrived at Durian Tondong.

For many people, the durian season ends when the last fruit is eaten.

For us, that’s when preparation for the next season begins.

Every bag represents another investment into healthier trees, stronger growth and better fruit quality—not just for the coming season, but for many seasons ahead.

Good durian isn’t created during harvest.

It is built through countless decisions made long before the first flower appears.

Season after season, we continue learning, improving and investing in our orchard.

Nature is our greatest teacher.

Not every season leaves behind only good memories.

Recently, strong winds caused one of the major branches on this mature durian tree to fail, leaving a significant wound on the trunk.

Moments like this remind us that growing durians is never just about harvest.

There are challenges we cannot prevent.

What we can control is how we respond.

Over the coming months, our focus will be on helping this tree recover while continuing to care for the rest of the orchard.

Every setback teaches us something.

Every season adds another chapter to our journey.

Not every naturally fallen durian becomes a Durian Tondong selection.

Every season reminds us that nature doesn’t produce identical fruits.

These three durians were harvested from our orchard.

Each ripened naturally on the tree before falling.

Yet, once opened, they revealed different colour, flesh development and overall eating quality.

This is one of the reasons why naturally grown durians can never be completely identical—even from the same orchard.

While all three durians are perfectly edible, not every fruit reaches the quality we hope to share.

That’s why every durian is individually inspected and evaluated.

Our goal isn’t to claim perfection.

Our goal is to keep improving—season after season.

Because we believe consistency begins with being honest about every harvest.

Why do we vacuum pack and freeze our durian?

We’ve noticed some people assume vacuum-packed frozen durian wasn’t fresh.

At Durian Tondong, it’s actually the opposite.

Every durian is naturally tree-ripened before being opened.

We carefully select only good-quality flesh and vacuum packing it.

Freezing it shortly after packing helps preserve its quality: freshness, texture and flavour.

We don’t freeze durian just to extend its shelf life.

We freeze it to preserve its freshness.

It’s simply part of our quality control process, so every box reaches you as close as possible to the day it was packed.
