Terima kasih kepada SGP GEF media team kerana datang melawat kami di Tangkob Sayat Kg. Tiong Karanaan hari ini 8/04/2026. Terima kasih kerana memberi kepercayaan kepada kami untuk melaksanakan projek konservasi di kawasan - Landscape on Community Conservation and Livelihood.
From this project we mobilizing and trained our community to led the movement and become the strongest guardians of nature.
what we do in this project?
In our community we depended on farming for survival, for generation we used traditional knowledge/practised rotational farming, we plant, we harvest and we allow the land to rest. This system protected our forests, water and biodiversity. Due to rising living costs farmers are shifting to permanent crops, we are forced to choose between survival and sustainability. Jadi how??? we protect our community, while restoring our resources and land?
From UNDP SGP GEF our answer was ... start from the ground with our people, we work together as a community, second we revived our traditional knowledge on farming practices not to going backward but adapting them combining with moden technology and current situation such as climate change, war, increasing of living cost dan yang ketiga dan pasti kami focused on restoring our benih yang telah kami mulakan melalui dana yang lalu. Because without or sumber there is no food, culture and future. and finaly we invested in people, we created a space for learning- working together as a team training, exposure and empowering women and engaging youths. Because the future of conservation depends on our community. Through this journey, we learned somethinh important, Conservation is not just about protecting nature, it is about protecting people.
Today, we are proud to showcase our efforts- demonstrating that our work can be replicatee by other communities. This project is not just about implemention, but about empowering the communutt with sense of ownership to ensure lasting impact.
