"The Deal of Fate"
Episode 1
Mia the poor girl sat frozen in a hard plastic chair, clutching a stack of unpaid medical bills.
Her fingers trembled.
$128,460.
That number kept staring back at her like a death sentence.
Across from her, doctors and nurses rushed through the hallway while monitors beeped somewhere in the distance.
But Mia heard only one thing:
"Your mother needs surgery immediately."
Immediately.
Not next month.
Not next week.
Tomorrow.
Without it, there was no guarantee she'd survive.
Mia swallowed hard and looked through the glass window at her mother sleeping quietly in the hospital bed.
She looked peaceful.
Too peaceful.
She had no idea her daughter was completely falling apart.
Then Mia's phone rang.
Unknown number.
Her brows pulled together.
At this hour?
Slowly she answered.
"Hello?"
"Mia Harper?"
"Yes?"
"I heard you need money."
Mia sat upright.
"W-who is this?"
"Someone who can solve your problem."
Her breathing stopped.
"But there is one condition."
Mia's face tightened.
"What condition?"
The voice paused.
Then calmly saidβ
"You have to get married."
Mia's eyes widened.
Married?
To who?
And why?
Little did Mia know...
one decision made that night would pull her into the world of wealth, secrets, betrayalβ
and a man whose life had already been connected to hers for years.
Mia barely slept.
How could she?
All night she kept replaying the conversation in her head.
Marriage.
To a stranger.
This had to be a scam.
Right?
By sunrise she had convinced herself to ignore it.
Until another call came.
This time a woman spoke.
"Miss Harper, your mother's surgery deposit must be completed before noon."
Mia closed her eyes.
Noon.
Noon.
Noon.
Her bank account contained exactly:
$417.
She looked around her tiny apartment.
Second-hand couch.
Tiny kitchen.
Peeling paint.
Three overdue notices sitting on the table.
She worked two jobs.
Morning waitress.
Night cleaner.
And somehow life still kept winning.
Her phone buzzed again.
Unknown number.
The same voice.
"Have you made your decision?"
Mia tried sounding strong.
"Who are you?"
"You can call me Ethan."
"And if I refuse?"
Silence.
Then
"Then I wish your family luck."
The call ended.
Mia stared at the screen.
Her chest felt tight.
Two hours later Mia stood outside an enormous building downtown.
Grey International Services.
Glass walls.
Luxury cars.
Men in expensive suits walked by.
Mia looked down at her simple dress and worn shoes.
She suddenly felt very small.
A woman approached.
"Miss Harper?"
Mia nodded.
"This way."
The elevator climbed.
10...
18...
26...
40...
Mia's heart beat faster with every floor.
Finally the doors opened.
A massive office stretched before her.
Floor-to-ceiling windows overlooked the entire city.
But Mia wasn't looking at the office.
She was looking at the man standing beside the window.
Tall.
Dark suit.
Broad shoulders.
Hands behind his back.
He slowly turned around.
And Mia forgot how to breathe.
Because she knew that face.
Or at leastβ
she thought she did.
Would you do it?
Would you marry someone you'd never met to save someone you loved?
Let us know below.
Because Mia was about to make the hardest choice of her life.
