Hello,
I'm Mariya Gambo Jika.
I don’t know—maybe it’s because I started cooking at an early age—but cooking has become so much more than just preparing meals for me. Honestly, I didn’t even like it at first. I was just a little girl, helping in the kitchen mostly because I had to. And of course, like many kids, I got scolded when I messed things up.
But something changed. The more time I spent in the kitchen, the more I realized how calm and happy it made me feel. Cooking slowly turned into my escape, my happy place. Whenever I’m stressed, overwhelmed, or even just thinking too much, I find peace once I start chopping, stirring, seasoning—it's like therapy for me.
As I grew older, I became more adventurous with flavors. I didn’t just want to cook; I wanted my food to have a story, a personality. That’s when I started creating my own spice blends. I wanted spices that could speak to my roots, my taste, and the love I put into each dish.
What began as a personal experiment turned into something bigger. Friends and family started asking for my spice mixes, and before I knew it, I was building a business around something that had once been just a chore.
Now, I proudly share my homemade spice blends with others—each one crafted with love, tradition, and a touch of my journey.
