ADDED TO MY CV

I am excited to share with you that I had the privilege of serving as a Rapporteur at the Faculty of Law International Conference organized by Faculty of Law, Ahmadu Bello University, themed "Law and Contemporary Societal Issues."

This was the first time that I served as a Rapporteur. My experience from the Conference cannot be weighed, measured or quantified.

I am grateful to the following:

i. The Faculty of Law, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria under the leadership of the Dean of Law, Prof. Salim B. Magashi and his colleague, the Assistant Dean Undergraduate, Dr. Umar Sani Bebeji for organizing such an academic oriented law conference.

ii. Ahmadu Bello University Law Clinic. I was selected from the Clinic. Being an active clinician was what gave me such a privilege.

iii. Professor M.B Uthman whom took time out of his precious time to answer our questions after the Conference.

ALHAMDULILLAH! ANOTHER ACHIEVEMENT THAT WORTHS SHARING!

I'm beyond ecstatic to share with you that I'm now the new Deputy Director of Litigation of the prestigious ABU Law Clinic. This is the new appointment given to me by the ABU Law Clinic earlier today, the 21st September, 2024 and the appointment is to take effect on the 23rd September, 2024.

It's imperative at this juncture to thank the person who finds me worthy of this appointment. This is no one but the outgoing Clinic Head, my Mentor, the Students' Mentor of the Year, in person of S.A YOLA.

I have been an active Clinician since my 100 level days but S. A Yola's administration was the administration that gave me more relevance at the ABU Law Clinic. He first appointed me as the Director of Media & Publicity and now before leaving, appointed me as the Deputy Director of Litigation.

Thank you my Mentor. May Allah protect you and grant all your wishes.

I was privileged to be among the ABU Law Clinicians that attended the Conference organized by the Public & Private Development Centre (PPDC) which was held on Wednesday 8th to Friday 10th May, 2024 at the NBA Conference Hall, Plot 1101, Muhammadu Buhari Way, CBD, Abuja.

The Conference was titled thus:

"Access to Justice Pro bono Conference 2024
3-Day Training for Pro bono Lawyers and Law Clinicians on the Reforming Pretrial Detention in Nigeria (RPDN) II"

The RPDN II project focuses on supporting the government of Nigeria in reforming the use of pretrial detention in Nigeria by providing legal services to pretrial detainees across the detention centres.

The role of the Clinicians involve working with Lawyers, PPDC Staff and other stakeholders to provide legal services to these detainees at no cost.

The Pro bono Conference provides us with additional information regarding the project, including training materials. Furthermore, the Conference gives me the privilege of networking both vertically and horizontally, i.e, it gives the Clinicians the opportunity of having contact with some of the Senior Advocates of Nigeria, Professors from other University, Students of other University, among other distinguished personalities.
