Eid al-Fitr: Hon Laka Felicitates Muslims, Seeks Prayers for Political Aspiration

An aspirant for the Eesa/Shawo/Igboidun State Constituency seat in the Kwara State House of Assembly under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji (Hon.) Sarafadeen Babatunde Oladipo, popularly known as Laka Omo Alubarika, has extended his warmest greetings and heartfelt felicitations to Muslim faithful across Nigeria, particularly those in his constituency, on the joyous occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

In a goodwill message, Oladipo described Eid al-Fitr as a period of gratitude, reflection, and renewed commitment to peace, unity, and communal harmony.

He noted that the festival marks the successful completion of Ramadan, urging Muslims to sustain the virtues of patience, sacrifice, and compassion imbibed during the holy month.

He called on citizens to continue promoting peaceful coexistence and mutual respect across communities, emphasizing the importance of unity in advancing societal development.

Oladipo also conveyed special greetings to the Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, commending his leadership and ongoing efforts toward the growth and stability of the state. He prayed for continued wisdom and strength for the Governor in steering the affairs of Kwara State.

The APC aspirant further extended his felicitations to traditional rulers and community leaders across Eesa/Shawo/Igboidun Constituency, acknowledging their roles in preserving cultural heritage, maintaining peace, and fostering unity at the grassroots.

He also appreciated party leaders, stakeholders, and loyal supporters for their unwavering commitment to the progress of the party and the constituency.

Alhaji Oladipo enjoined all party faithfuls and supporters to use the Eid period as an opportunity to offer prayers for his emergence as the party’s candidate and, subsequently, as the duly elected lawmaker representing Eesa/Shawo/Igboidun Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly.

He concluded by wishing all Muslim faithful a peaceful and joyous Eid celebration, urging them to celebrate responsibly and continue to show love and compassion to one another.

This year’s Ramadan comes at a significant moment for Ogun State and Nigeria. It is the last Ramadan before political activities toward the 2027 elections fully gather momentum, following the release of the timetable by the Independent National Electoral Commission. As public engagement increases in the months ahead, this holy month reminds us to anchor our politics in conscience, restraint, and respect for one another.

Ramadan also comes at a time when our country is beginning to stabilise after difficult economic years. The reforms under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda have required sacrifice, but we are beginning to see signs of recovery. This season calls us to remain patient, prayerful, and supportive of efforts to build a more secure and prosperous Nigeria.

At the same time, Nigeria continues to attract global attention, particularly on matters of inter-faith harmony. It is therefore important that we demonstrate, through our conduct, that our diversity remains a strength and that peaceful coexistence is not negotiable.

It is also noteworthy that Ramadan closely coincides with the Christian Lenten season this year, a powerful reminder that both faiths share common values of sacrifice, discipline, charity, and renewal.

As we fast and pray, may we deepen our devotion to Allah, strengthen the bonds within our communities, and conduct our civic and political engagements in ways that promote unity, development, and peace for Ogun State and for Nigeria.
