Why haven’t you started livestock farming yet?

Is it capital, knowledge, fear of loss… or you’re still waiting for the ‘perfect time’?

One thing I’ve learned the earlier you start, the faster you learn.

Even small beginnings can grow into something big with consistency and experience. 💯

Be honest… what’s stopping you?

One mistake I see many new cattle farmers make…

They think feeding is enough.

But if you don’t manage behavior (especially cows with horn), you go suffer 😅

Have you ever been chased on your farm before?”

Some people say livestock farming is faster money

Others say crop farming is more stable.

As a farmer, which one do you agree with?

Let me say something many people will not like.

Some of us are broke not because Nigeria is hard
but because we ignore opportunities like livestock farming.

Yes, I said it.

You’ll see land you won’t use it.
You’ll see grass you won’t rear animals.
You’ll see farmers making money you’ll still call it “local work.”

But you want soft life?

Meanwhile…
The same cow you ignore today
You’ll buy it tomorrow as meat at a very high price.

Think about it.

Farmers are not shouting…
But they are cashing out quietly.

So tell me

Who is really smart? The one doing the work… or the one complaining?

This rainy season will favor only two people
The ones that act… and the ones that will regret later.

I have a good quantity of cassava peels available for anyone feeding ruminant animals. It’s a great, cost-effective feed resource when properly dried and processed.

You can come pick it up or I waybill and you dry it yourself, as I currently don’t have enough space to handle the drying.

If you’re interested, feel free to reach out come.

There are reports of restrictions on livestock movement across borders, and this is already affecting the availability of animals in the market.

This situation is one of the reasons we are seeing a steady increase in the cost of protein beef, goat meat, and other livestock products are becoming more expensive by the day.

When the supply of animals is limited, prices will definitely go up. And at the end of the day, it is the common man that bears the cost.

This is a serious issue that needs urgent attention, because food security and affordability should be a priority for everyone.

Farmers, traders, and policymakers need to work together to find lasting solutions.

For those asking how I handle ticks and other ectoparasites on my cattle, here’s my simple method

I use this treatment and mix a measured quantity with black oil, then apply it along the back of my cows.

The oil helps the chemical stay longer on their skin compared to using water, which makes it more effective.

After a few days, you’ll notice a big difference — their bodies become cleaner, healthier, and more comfortable.

Pregnancy check is a very important part of cattle management.

In this moment, I’m carefully observing and feeling the cow to monitor her condition and confirm if she is progressing well. Early detection of pregnancy helps you plan better. feeding, health care, and preparation for calving.

A pregnant cow needs
✔️ Proper nutrition
✔️ Low stress environment
✔️ Regular monitoring

When you manage a pregnant cow well, you’re not just protecting one life you’re securing the future of your herd and your profit.

Good farmers don’t guess… they observe, check, and act early.

This is flock mating in action on my farm. One strong bull, multiple cows, and nature doing its work.

In livestock production, good breeding management is everything. Every healthy calf you see today started with the right mating system.

If you’re into cattle farming, understand your system and manage it well.”
