THE POWE OVER SIN
according to the world definition of Sin, it is said that sin is simple instruction neglected.
Now, what does it mean to have power over sin? Even when it's said to be simple and it's still required power to overcome it.
Let's go to the book of romans 8 vs 2. For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
Here we have the law of the spirit of life that is in Christ Jesus and the law of sin and death. These laws are at work in our life as an unbeliever, these of the spirit of life might tell you to pray and also study the scripture in the morning before going out but the law of sin and death will tell you that you don't have time and it will remind you about all your engagement for the day and even quote scripture ; like the Lord will fight for you and you will hold your peace (exodus 14 vs 14).
Overcoming the Law of Sin and Death
According to the book of romans 8 vs 1. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who work not after the flesh bu after the Spirit.
You walk according to the Spirit by yielding towards the promptings of the Holy Spirit (doing what the Holy Spirit demand of you at anytime and season, by so doing the law of sin and death according to romans 8 vs 2 will gradually disappear from your life and Holy Spirit will take total control of your life and everything about you.
The Holy Spirit will always speak to your heart and you will know He is the one speaking because His Words is always against the flesh, you can't argue whatever He says because that must be the right thing to do at that particular time.
Another way you recognize His voice is that there must be unexplainable joy in your heart/spirit. Romans 8 vs 6 for to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. The book of romans 8 vs 1 says, there is therefore no condemnation on those who work according to the Spirit of God. So when you work in the Spirit I.e according to the direction of the Holy Spirit you will have life and peace in you.
Conclusion
1st John 1 vs 1 that which was from the beginning which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and vets 4 said these things write we unto you that your joy may full.
Finally, Galatians 5 vs 16. This I say then, walk in the Spirit and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
