STOP BLAMING THE FEED. READ THIS FIRST.
One thing we’ve noticed at DonsFarm is that whenever broilers fail to reach their expected weight, the first thing many farmers blame is the feed. “The chick is fake.” “This brand has reduced its quality.” But before pointing fingers, ask yourself a few honest questions. Did your birds consume the recommended quantity of feed? Was your brooding done properly? Was the litter kept dry? Did you provide adequate feeder and drinker space? Was the poultry house well ventilated? Did you monitor your birds daily or did you simply fill the feeders and expect outstanding results?

The truth is that many broiler farms don’t have a feed problem, they have a management problem. Over the years, we’ve worked with farmers using different broiler breeds and different feed brands and one lesson remains constant: good management consistently outperforms excuses. Excellent management can produce impressive results even under average conditions, while poor management can ruin the performance of the best feed and the healthiest birds.

That said, management is only one part of the equation. The quality of your day-old chicks (DOCs) and the quality of your feed are equally important. No amount of good management can completely make up for weak chicks or poor-quality feed. Sustainable success in poultry farming comes from combining quality day-old chicks, quality feed and excellent farm management.
