Peter Obi was right about this so called Coastal Road, Nigerian react after federal government abandoned the project :
The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has stated that the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Road will no longer follow the coastline beyond Lagos and Ogun States.
According to Umahi, the road will instead move inland through Edo State before connecting to the East-West Road.
See all this project is for the benefit of the southwest. After southwest Lagos and Ogun had their way. It reaches Benin it's no longer coastal highway but connecting to East West road. You see the fraud and the deception.
My brothers from south south were jubilating because of that and I ask how una see am? When Peter Obi said that the project is an elephant project they came for his head, insult and attacks. The Tinubu deceptive government has Now shifted ground after using it achieving a safe Haven for southwest states.
You people hate honesty, those that tells you Truth and reality.
The most nepotistic government ever in the history of Nigeria. The southwest has shown they can't be trusted with power in a country of multi ethnic groups. Check the government appointments, federal projects then you from south south, southeast supporting this mess need to examine your brain.
And this is the part they don't want you to calculate:
This so-called Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway is not a road, it is a N15 TRILLION elephant project about $11 billion awarded WITHOUT competitive bidding to Hitech, a company of Tinubu's ally Gilbert Chagoury.
For just the first 47.47km in Lagos alone, they have already spent N1.067 TRILLION. That is N7.5 BILLION per kilometre by Umahi's own mouth.
N15 trillion for a road that was sold to you as a coastal highway to Calabar, but when it passes Lagos and Ogun, it suddenly becomes an inland road to Benin? That is not a mistake. That is a deliberate deception.
They used the name "Coastal" to get South-South and South-East to celebrate and defend it. They used N15 trillion of national money, money that could rebuild schools, hospitals and the entire East-West Road itself, to build a southwest superhighway and call it a national project.
Peter Obi was right. This was never about connecting Nigeria. It was about connecting Lagos to the presidency's pocket.
A project awarded in secrecy, built at N7.5 billion per km, and renamed after Tinubu himself, now abandoned as coastal after the Southwest is done. If this is not fraud, what is it?
The government that hides contract details and hires 6 SANs with taxpayers' money to block Freedom of Information requests about this road is not building infrastructure, it is building a monument to corruption.
