The Ilorin Emirate Youth development Association (IEYDA) in collaboration with the ilorin Durbar committee organized a pre-Durbar rally to mark the commencement of durbar celebrations and eid celebrations

The rally bring together the ilorin youths and emphasis on the advocates of peace and harmony among the emirate youth.

In addition, the rally encourages youth to shun all forms of violence, social vice and anti-political propaganda that can harm the cultural and structural integrity of ilorin and its environs.

The IEYDA Annual Pre-Dubbar endurance trek in conjunction with the Durbar Committee chaired by Engineer Sulaiman Yahaya Alapasanpa will hold tomorrow to mark the beginning of Durbar celebrations.

A statement issued by the National President of the Association, Alhaji Muhammed Uthman-Jagunmo and the National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Abdullahi Abdulfatahi-Oloyin said the meeting point is Emir's palace starting at 6:30am.

The statement emphasized that the early morning trek maintains a long-standing cultural practice while promoting community health and unity.

Participants are expected to include youth groups, cultural associations, and interested community members.

The trek route will wind through major areas of the metropolis before culminating at a central location for preliminary Durbar activities.

The Ilorin Emirate Youth advised participants to wear comfortable sports wear and arrive at the Emir's palace before the 6:30 a.m. commencement time.

INSECURITY: EMIR SULU-GAMBARI SCHEDULES SPECIAL PRAYER FOR PRESIDENT Tinubu, GOV. ABDULRASAQ TOMORROW MAY 10,

Worried by the high spate of insecurity across the nation, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has organized a special prayer for the restoration of peace in the country.

The prayer will focus of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON for Almighty Allah's guidance for them in their leadership as Nigeria's President and Kwara State Governor respectively.

This is contained in a statement issued on Friday by the Emir's spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, stressing that, "No nation can develop amidst insecurity and percieved tension ".

The prayer will hold tomorrow Saturday 10th May 2025 at the Madrasatul Sheikh Solih Alimi at 10am, to be led by the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Dr. Muhammad Bashir Imam Soliu OON and other clerics across the Ilorin Emirate.

The Emir commended the State Governor and Sardauna of Ilorin Emirate, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON, for his commitments and dedication towards ensuring that peaceful coexistence continue to reign in the state.

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari however assured the Governor and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR of his continuous support and collaboration in order to ensure that their tenure is free of banditry, terrorism and other social vices threatening the peaceful coexistence and unity of the nation.

He therefore urged residents of Ilorin Emirate to be part of the event aimed at fostering harmony in Kwara State and Nigeria in general.

As part of tradition in Ilorin Emirate,every 27th or 28th of Ramadan there will b a gathering call iwole, Meaning the cleaning and clearing of Eid Praying Ground by All traditional titles holders in the Emirate after cleaning they will assemble at Emirs palace to pay homage to HRH where the colanut will be share as as a symbol of unity in preparation of sallah.
