A Landmark Achievement for AFFAK 🚐

In October 2025, the leadership of AFFAK took a bold step toward strengthening the operational capacity of its Taskforce Team. With a shared vision, plans were set in motion to improve mobility through the acquisition of essential operational assets.

Through the collective effort and financial contributions of dedicated members, AFFAK successfully procured:
• One Brand New Motorcycle (Okada)
• One Weighing Scale
• One 25kg Dead Weight

While these milestones were achieved, the pursuit of a mini-bus remained a key priority.

On March 25th, 2026, that vision became a reality. In a historic moment, OLAM / OLAM Feed Distributors officially presented a mini-bus to AFFAK, handing over the keys to the President, Brigadier General S.T. Olasupo (Rtd.).

In an additional show of generosity, the distributors also donated ₦133,000 to support fuel and ensure the smooth operation of the vehicle.

In his remarks, the President expressed deep appreciation for this remarkable gesture, describing it as a strong commitment to the growth and welfare of fish farmers across Kwara State. He also emphasized the importance of sustaining this partnership for mutual growth within the agricultural sector.

The mini-bus will be formally unveiled at the next AFFAK General Congress, where members will celebrate this collective achievement.

This milestone reflects the power of unity, partnership, and shared vision.

The importance of regulating antibiotic use was highlighted during the Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Awareness Program held at the Kwara State Arts and Culture Centre.

Participants were educated on why regulation is critical to protecting both human and animal health:

• Preventing the development of drug-resistant infections
• Protecting public health and reducing avoidable deaths
• Safeguarding livestock and food safety
• Preserving the effectiveness of existing antibiotics
• Encouraging sustainable farming and hygiene practices

Unregulated antibiotic use accelerates AMR, leading to higher medical costs, longer hospital stays, and increased health risks.
Responsible use today protects lives tomorrow.

A big win for fish farmers! On 14th October 2025, the FAO–JDPC one-year training programme officially kicked off — marking a huge step toward capacity building and sustainable growth for members of AFFAK and the Ministry of Agriculture.

The training—organised by FAO and implemented by JDPC Ibadan—will combine classroom and field sessions to strengthen participants’ skills in:
✅ Financial literacy & record keeping
