Abusive husbands don’t just appear out of nowhere — they were once little boys who were raised without correction.

Your 3-year-old son throws food at you because he doesn’t like it. You laugh and say, “Children, eh!”

He hits you when he wants to be carried, and you giggle, “You’re beating mummy, ehn?”

He bullies other kids in the compound, and you proudly say, “He doesn’t take nonsense.”

He picks up objects and strikes anyone who tells him “No.” You smile and call him “Action boy!”

You expose him to violence and aggression, brushing it off with, “He’s a man. A man should be tough.”

Fast-forward a few years — he’s now a teenager. He barks orders at his sisters, bullies them into silence, and slaps anyone who dares to question him. You call him “The man of the house.”

He’s used to getting his way. And now he’s a grown man in society.
Only now, it’s not funny anymore.

Abusive husbands aren’t born. Many were raised.

It’s easier to raise a responsible boy than to fix a broken man.
Let’s invest the same energy in raising our sons right as we do our daughters — because we’re not just raising boys, we’re raising someone’s future husband and father.

Class dismissed.
