NDC Releases Timetable for 2027 Primaries and Sale of Forms
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced the timetable for the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday, sale of Expression of Interest Forms will run from May 13 to May 18, 2026, while screening and interviews for aspirants will hold from May 19 to May 21, 2026.
Sale of Nomination Forms will take place from May 21 to May 23, while completed forms must be submitted on or before May 25, 2026. Appeals arising from the screening exercise will be heard on May 25 and 26.
Primary elections for various offices are scheduled for May 27 and 28, while the Presidential Primary Election will hold on May 29, 2026, in Abuja.
The party stated that State House of Assembly aspirants will be screened in their respective states, while National Assembly and Presidential aspirants will be screened at the party’s National Headquarters in Abuja. Governorship primaries will be conducted at the local government level.
NDC also announced the adoption of the open secret ballot system to ensure transparency, fairness, and internal democracy. All aspirants are required to sign an undertaking in line with the party’s guidelines and code of conduct.
The approved fees are as follows:
• State House of Assembly:
Expression of Interest – ₦1 million
Nomination Form – ₦1.5 million
• House of Representatives:
Expression of Interest – ₦2 million
Nomination Form – ₦4 million
• Senate:
Expression of Interest – ₦3 million
Nomination Form – ₦5 million
• Governorship:
Expression of Interest – ₦10 million
Nomination Form – ₦20 million
Presidency:
Expression of Interest – ₦20 million
Nomination Form – ₦40 million
The party reaffirmed its commitment to a transparent, credible, and inclusive primary election process ahead of the 2027 polls.
