Certainly! Coal is a naturally occurring fossil fuel that is formed from the remains of ancient plants and organisms that were subjected to heat and pressure over millions of years. It is primarily composed of carbon, along with various other elements such as hydrogen, sulfur, oxygen, and nitrogen. Coal is primarily used as a fuel source for electricity generation and in various industrial processes.



Coal can be categorized into four main types based on its carbon content and energy content:

Anthracite: This is the highest rank of coal, characterized by its high carbon content (around 86-97%), high energy density, and low moisture and volatile content. It burns cleanly and is used mainly for residential heating and in certain industrial applications.
Bituminous: This is the most abundant type of coal, with a carbon content of about 45-86%. It is used mainly for electricity generation and in the production of steel. It has a higher energy content than sub-bituminous coal and lower sulfur content than lignite.
Sub-bituminous: With a carbon content of about 35-45%, sub-bituminous coal has a lower energy content than bituminous coal but is commonly used for electricity generation as well.
Lignite: This is the lowest rank of coal and contains 25-35% carbon. It has a high moisture content and is often used for electricity generation in power plants located near the mine site due to its low energy content and high emissions.



Definition and Composition Iron ore is a natural rock or mineral from which iron (Fe) can be extracted economically. It predominantly consists of iron oxides, with the most common types being:

Hematite (Fe₂O₃): Usually reddish-brown, it contains about 70% iron.
Magnetite (Fe₃O₄): Usually black or gray, it contains about 72% iron and is magnetic.

Yesterday, 16/11/2024 Hon. Anas Shuaibu Didango, Member State Assembly representing the Karim II Constituency, visited Bambur Darofai Ward in Karim Lamido Local Government to express condolences following the recent tragic clashes between herders and farmers that resulted in the loss of four lives.

During his visit, Hon. Didango convened a critical meeting with key stakeholders, including the Local Government Chairman, Hon. Bitrus Danjos, councilors, traditional rulers, and representatives from security agencies, including the DPO and OC Army, DSSS, NSCDC. The primary focus of the meeting was to address the urgent need for peace and collaboration between the herders and farmers in the area.

In his address, Hon. Didango emphasized the importance of dialogue and understanding, urging all parties to commit to maintaining peace. He highlighted the necessity of timely meetings to foster communication and resolve conflicts before they escalate.

Both herders and farmers expressed their agreement to work together towards peace, recognizing the shared responsibility in nurturing a harmonious community. This meeting marks a significant step towards restoring stability and ensuring the safety of all residents in the region.
