Starting a business from scratch is not as easy as it looks from the outside.
People see the shop.
They see the products on the shelves.
They see the nice packaging, the pictures, the videos and the orders coming in.
But they don't always see everything that happened before those things.
The money you had to put together.
The prices you had to check over and over again.
The times you calculated your cost and wondered, “Will I actually make anything from this?”
The things you bought that you later realised you didn't really need.
The days you don't make a single sale.
The pressure of trying to make your money back.
The fear of making the wrong decision.
And honestly, there have been moments since I started Nikziel Food Hub where I've asked myself, “What did I enter?” 😂
But I'm still here.
I'm learning as I go.
I'm making mistakes, correcting them and trying again.
And I'm slowly understanding that starting small doesn't mean you won't get somewhere. It simply means you have to be patient enough to build.
So if you've been thinking about starting that business you've had in your head for months or even years…
Start.
I'm not going to tell you it will be easy, because it won't.
There will be slow days. There will be mistakes. There will be moments when you question yourself.
But if it's something you genuinely want to do, don't let the fear of the difficult beginning stop you from finding out what it could become.
Start with what you have.
Learn.
Adjust.
Keep your records.
Know your numbers.
And keep going.
I'm still at the beginning of my own journey, but I'm glad I decided to try.
To everyone building something from scratch: I see you. ❤️
And to the person who has been saying “one day I'll start”…
Maybe one day can be today. 🌾💚
