There was a particular period one of my kids fell ill, we consulted our doctor and he treated him, then another one started feeling unwell the following day we taught it was a joke until all 4 of them followed suits, as if that wasn't enough to drained me.
The first one we taught has been treated and ok started feeling unwell again. Aaah! we complained to our doctor again and the first thing he asked was which water are they drinking? We said is the campus tap water they have been drinking since they were born now. He said "madam can you be boiling their water?
My husband agreed immediately, in my mind I was like "can you boil 4 children water 😂😆"
I quickly pleaded, doc can I at least be buying them bottle water. His reply was "In most cases I can't guarantee this bottle water"
For the love of my family I agreed.
As it stands now, In my house it has become a tradition to boil and cool their water before drinking and immediately I implemented this method they got better as if that was the only drugs they needed.
Along the line I got a water purifier to make it seamless but in the long run it's really worth the investment.
Treating your family's water can be essential for ensuring its safety and quality. The importance of treating our drinking water can not be over emphasized. Even if you find boiling cumbersome try other methods that I listed 👇👇👇
Here aresome simple ways to treat your family's water:
1. Boiling: Boiling water is an effective method to kill most harmful microorganisms. Boil the
water for at least one minute (or three minutes at higher altitudes) to make it safe for
2. Filtration: Use a water filter to remove impurities and contaminants. There are varioustypes of filters available, such as activated carbon filters, ceramic filters, and reverse osmosissystems. Choose one that suits your needs and follow the manufacturer's instructions formaintenance.
3. Chlorination: Chlorine tablets or bleach can be used to disinfect water. Add the
recommended amount of chlorine to the water and wait for at least 30 minutes before
consuming. Make sure to use the appropriate concentration specified on the product label.
4. UV Purification: UV water purifiers use ultraviolet light to kill bacteria, viruses, and othermicroorganisms. These devices are effective for treating clear water and can be a reliableoption.
5. Solar Disinfection (SODIS): If you have access to sunlight, you can use the SODIS method.Fill clear plastic bottles with water and leave them in direct sunlight for at least 6 hours (or 2days if it's cloudy). The UV rays from the sun will help disinfect the water.
6. Distillation: Boil water and collect the steam, which will condense into clean water. This
method removes contaminants, but it requires heating and cooling equipment.
7. Water Purification Tablets: Portable water purification tablets can be used when you're onthe go or in a situation where other methods are not available. Follow the instructions on thetablet packaging.
Remember that the effectiveness of these methods can vary depending on the water sourceand the contaminants present.
