When the Support System Needs a Support (Gala 6:2, Eccl 4:9-10, Exodus 17:8-13)
They’re the ones who hold us up when we stumble:the listeners, the fixers, the silent warriors who carry burdens without complaint. But what happens when their strength wavers? When the rock crumbles, the encourager loses heart, or the caregiver forgets to care for themselves?
It’s a quiet crisis. The friend who always has the right words but now stares at the ceiling at 3 AM. The parent who juggled everyone’s needs but now feels empty. The leader who inspired thousands but battles exhaustion alone.
Here’s the truth: even pillars need reinforcement. A shoulder that’s always leaned on will eventually ache. A heart that gives endlessly must also receive.
So today, look closer. Who in your life is always "strong"? Check on them. Listen: really listen. Bring them coffee,if you are close: a hug, send a voice note, or sit in silence with them. Remind them it’s okay to rest, to take break, to be in need.
Because support systems don’t fail from too much weight—they fail from being taken for granted.
Tag someone who’s always been your support. Then, be theirs.
Now go—before it’s too late.
