💔 She Waited at the Bus Stop.

Every evening at exactly 5:30pm, an old woman sat quietly at the same dusty buss stop. People wey dey leave for that area dey call am “Mama Patience.”
She never missed a day. Weather rain or sunshine… she was always there.
At first, people thought she was just resting.
But days turned into weeks… weeks into months… and she was still coming.
One day, a young girl finally asked her,
“Grandma, who are you always waiting for?”
Mama Patience smiled faintly and said,
“My son… he promised he would come back for me.”
The girl’s heart softened.
“Where did he go?”
“He said he was traveling to the city to make money… that was 7 years ago.”
Silence.
The girl felt a lump in her throat.
“Do you have his number?” she asked.
Mama Patience shook her head slowly.
“I don’t even know how to use a phone… but I know my son. He will come.”
Days passed… and the girl couldn’t forget her.
So she began to sit with Mama Patience every evening.
They talked. They laughed. Sometimes… they cried.
Until one evening…
Mama Patience didn’t show up.
Worried, the girl went to her small house nearby.
She found her lying peacefully on her bed… gone.
But beside her… was a small, worn-out bag.
Inside it…
Old baby clothes.
A faded photograph.
And a letter.
The girl opened it with trembling hands.
It read:
"If you are reading this, it means I have gone to meet my maker.
Please don’t be sad for me… I waited for my son because that gave my life meaning.
But if he ever comes back… tell him I forgave him long ago.
Tell him… I never stopped loving him."
The girl broke down in tears.
Days later…
A young man arrived at the bus stop, looking lost.
“Please… does anyone know Mama Patience?”
The girl’s heart skipped.
“You’re her son…?”
He nodded, eyes filled with regret.
“I finally made it… I came back for her…”
Tears rolled down the girl’s face as she handed him the letter.
He read it… and collapsed to his knees.
Some people don’t leave…
They just arrive too late. 💔
