REJECTED SAVIOR, ENDURING VISION

Simon Ekpa came from far away,
His heart full of love for his people's fight.
He wanted to save Kanu, day by day,
Twist the government's arm to make things right.
Free Nnamdi Kanu, no matter the cost,
He mocked their kidnap, their torture so mean,
Turned their sneaky plan into total loss,
Kept Biafra's dream alive and clean.

Enemies chuckled, thought it was done,
"Kanu's gone, the cause will fade away."
But Simon stood up, wouldn't let them run,
Called their bluff and brightened up the day.
He gave it all—his time, his strength, his soul,
To lift his race from chains that held them tight.
But some of his own folks lost control,
Hated him, cursed him, wished him out of sight.

"Why turn on me?" he wondered in pain,
"I'm here to help, to set our people free."
They called him names, drove him insane,
Ignored the hope he brought for all to see.
Now here's the twist that stings so deep:
An outsider, Sowore, steps in to lead,
Takes up the job where Simon wouldn't sleep,
Plants the seeds that Simon helped to seed.

Still, his fire burns, it won't go out,
Biafra's spirit rises strong and true.
He showed the world what fight's about,
A simple man who made the dream come through.
