What happened in our theatre today I still don't know how to explain.
She had just delivered.
A beautiful baby.
Healthy. Perfect.
But no one expected what came next.
After delivery, she started having postpartum blééding.
She didn’t tell us.
She didn’t alert the nurses.
She just lay quietly on the bed, pretending to rest.
When one of the nurses went back to check on the new mothers, she noticed something was wrong.
The mother seemed asleep… but something felt off.
She tapped her shoulder.
No response.
A quick check revealed heavy blééding.
Too much. Far too much.
The alarm was raised immediately.
Doctors and nurses rushed.
She was quickly carried to the emergency resuscitation room.
Every effort was made:
IV fluids, medications, blood transfusions.
Everything we knew was thrown at saving her.
But she didn’t wake up.
Her pulse was faint.
Her lips pale.
Her eyes closed.
Minutes felt like hours.
Then the doctor whispered the words that crushed our hearts:
“She’s gõne.” 😢
The nurses began crying bitterly 😭.
Some held their faces.
Some sank to the floor.
The weight of despair filled the room.
Someone who just delivered savely some hours ago.
They began preparing her documentation.
She was gently covered with a white cloth.
Her husband cõllapsed to the ground, crying, shouting prayers, begging God to save her 😭.
The entire ward felt like the world had stopped.
As they carried her on the wheel bed to take her to the mõrtuary…
Suddenly, a faint cough.
Silence.
Then someone shouted:
“She’s awake! She’s awake!” 😭
The room froze.
Her fingers twitched.
Her eyelids fluttered.
Her chest rose.
Her husband fell to his knees, sobbing uncontrollably 😭.
She opened her eyes and whispered, weakly but alive:
"Why is my husband crying?"
“My baby… is my baby okay?”
The baby’s cry filled the room.
Perfect. Strong. Alive.
Tears rolled down every face 😭.
The nurses, doctors, husband, and mother herself, all overwhelmed by the impossible.
