Want to start poultry farming but not sure which breed to go for?

As a beginner, the breed you choose can make a big difference in your success, especially in the early stages. Here are 3 beginner-friendly breeds I recommend based on my experience:

1. Broilers

Fast growth (ready for market in 6–8 weeks)

Great for meat production

Needs careful feeding and clean housing

2. Layers

Ideal for egg production

Lays up to 300+ eggs per year

Slightly longer to mature but steady income from eggs

3. Noilers (local hybrid)

Tougher and more resistant to diseases

Can be raised for both meat and eggs

Perfect for low-budget or semi-free range farming

Tip: Start small. Learn as you go. Each breed has its strengths, so choose based on your goal—eggs, meat, or both.
